Description:

The aim of the project was to summarise fragmented data concerning labour costs, labour taxation with respect to the financing of social security and health insurance systems, and the share of labour costs and unit labour costs in the period 2009-2014 for the EU and the USA. In view of the methodological discrepancies linked to the monitoring of labour costs, current and internationally comparable data from Eurostat (labour statistics and national accounts), the OECD, the State Final Account of the Czech Republic and data from the US Department of Commerce, Bureau of Economic Analysis was used as the source material for the research. The processing of the data and resulting calculations were based on methodology certified by the Czech Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in 2013 entitled “The monitoring of labour costs and labour as a factor of production in the Czech Republic and abroad”. The two-year delay in the presentation of the results corresponded to the time required for the processing of input data by Eurostat and the Czech Statistical Office.
