Description:The project is based on the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (MoLSA) commitment contained in the 2017 Family Policy Concept to prepare periodic Family Reports. This Report is intended to update and expand upon the contents of the 2017 Family Report, i.e. to monitor trends in family behaviour and changes in the socio-economic conditions of families of different types, including the forms and effects of social support for families. At the same time it focuses on the most serious problems faced by families, in particular the long-term decline in their stability. Thus, the Report analyses the relevant demographic processes and the socio-economic context of instability and provides an assessment of the social, psychological-social and cultural-value factors that act to support or weaken family stability. The Report is based on up-to-date statistical data, particularly demographic and economic statistics, as well as on selected sociological surveys and specifically-focused qualitative surveys conducted over recent years by the Research Institute for Labour and Social Affairs (RILSA/VUPSV) and other institutions whose results are available in expert literature and databases. The 2020 Family Report will provide conceptual material for the MoLSA and other ministries (particularly of Education, Health and Regional Development) and, at the same time, will form the basis for the compilation of the Family Policy Concept for the subsequent period. It is panned that the Report will be submitted to the government on the International Day of the Family in May 2020.
